How come fascist italy lost WW2?

i'm half italian and i now i'm glad the axis lost but i have a little italian pride and it's suck that they where the first to surrender.

They had a very weak army. They tried to invade Ethiopia in the 30s with their army. The Ethipoians didn't have that much guns. The Italians almost lost embarrisingly and only managed to subdue Ethiopia after Germany gave some assistance.
